Thanks for your patience with this bug! I believe I have this fixed in this month's release (14.05), so I'd greatly appreciate if you would give this another try.
First, open a terminal make sure your packages are up-to-date:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Then run `novacut-reset` from the terminal to delete your previous Dmedia library:
novacut-reset
Then open Dmedia or Novacut, click on "New Account", and see if things work for you. Please let me know if things work now for you, or if you're still encountering this bug.
