We are currently thinking about splitting Diodon into two parts a service (possible DBus) and a client application (tray notification, menu etc.). Different application can then also access the clipboard history through the service without being part of diodon itself (e.g. Gnome Extension etc.).
I also agree that the Preferences should be part of the Gnome System settings.
Those two things are somewhat two different issues though. I leave this issue open now and adjust it to integrating Diodon into the Control panel. I will however open another one for running Diodon as a service.
Thanks for the feedback.
