and the slide opens successfully.

4) What happens instead is it hangs indefinitely.

WORKAROUND: Open file using Microsoft Office PowerPoint via WINE.

Original Reporter Comments: I isolated the problem to two slides that contain just a single object - a plot created in MS Excel. Attempting to import either slide as a one-slide presentation hangs indefinitely.

This was reported to openoffice.org last night as Issue 110243, which was marked resolved this morning because it works on OO 3.2 under Suse linux.

This is a problem for me on openoffice 3.2 on lucid. Working on perhaps getting a backtrace and i will look at the upstream bug.

Could not reproduce. No hang with 12.ppt.

No hang with slide31.ppt, but only header is imported. Seems this should be reported as separate bug.

I don't use Impress anymore (beamer on lyx now) - should I just close this bug?

The file no longer hangs indefinitely. However, the graph isn't shown. If you would need a fix for this, please file a new report.
