Wishlist: save several settings in drawing file

I would be great, to be able to store a few settings local to the drawing file. In my case I like to store the global inkscape settings "steps" optional in the drawing. In case of having different drawings, which are based on different grid settings, I can select a useful step width related to the used grid in the actual document, which may make work significantly easier. One further option also can be, to offer a step size, which is dynamically related to the actual grid settings

Yep, the grid based unit in Bug #818055 “New length unit - grid spacing” would be a very good approach, even with the described uncertainties (which grid setting to use, if you define more than on, whats going on with axonometric grid setting). So I suggest to merge my wish with Bug #818055

the requested features of your report should be covered, without the need to move (or duplicate?) the general 'Steps' settings from 'Inkscape Preferences' into 'Document Properties'.
