Comment 4 for bug 667801

Hi,
I've tried this:
git clone git://linux.dell.com/ubuntu-fid.git
Initialized empty Git repository in /home/<username>/ubuntu-fid/.git/
fatal: Unable to look up linux.dell.com (port 9418) (Name or service not known)

if I do echo $http_proxy, the output was,
http://<ip>:<port>
The authentication credentials don't seem to have been recorded.
