No, all updates are not affected. You can check in the "Third Party" tab in Software sources and you will see the list of custom repos for the mini (the main url being:

http://dell-mini.archive.canonical.com

One question: did you receive your mini with the regular Ubuntu repos enabled (the one in the "Ubuntu software" tab)?
