The problem seems to be due to the fact that the standard ubuntu repositories are enabled in the "Software Sources". Now those are not supposed to be enabled, since the dell-mini has its own repositories. To fix this:

1. Go to System -> Administration -> Software Sources
2. Disable all the checkboxes in the Ubuntu Software tab panel.

This should fix it. The mini should come with all those disabled by default, but this would need to be verified.
