The scenario fits pretty well except for point 5. At least I would say that I did not mistype it, because I normally double-check it. But as I cannot be 100% sure; I'll just say that you described my scenario perfectly (which would explain why out of a sudden DD created another archive type while continuing).
Thank you very much for this reply. You might mark this bug now as solved or wait for this until you made sure that DD prompts for retyping the password if it was wrong.
