Both deja-dup and deja-dup-preferences show icons in System Monitor for me in Ubuntu 12.04. deja-dup-monitor *does not* show the icon.

Is that the same behavior you see?

I was just doing a bit of cleanup on harvest and broke one bug into individual bugs from #900002 if this is fixed in12.04 it can be marked fixed released or invalid.

So deja-dup-monitor does have a .desktop file that provides this information, but it's only installed into /etc/xdg/autostart. We should probably install a copy or link into /usr/share/applications so that System Monitor can find it.

@Diogo.

I still do not see an icon for deja-dup-monitor in system monitor, nor do I have a (linked) deja-dup-monitor.desktop in /usr/share/applications. Do you have such a file?

I use Ubuntu 16.04 with Déjà Dup 34.2-0ubuntu1.

I have (the same?) issue. I use Ubuntu 17.04 with the Gnome Shell. I cannot see the icon, when the backup runs.
