What system was this confirmed on? I'm running Ubuntu 11.10, and for deja-dup at least, I'm seeing an icon in the Gnome System Monitor (see attached). Am I misunderstanding this issue?

It was on Ubuntu 11.10 too.
Now, I am running 12.04 alpha.

I don't remember if it was deja-dup or deja-dup-monitor that i was referring to.
If it was deja-dup-monitor, then maybe it should have the process icon shown in your screenshot.

Talked with RainCT and mhr3. The efforts needed for this is not worthy and can be used for other more important work

@Manish Sinha,
Zeitgeist already have a icon, so this should be easy and not require much effort.

Zeitgeist devs are working on fts component which needs most of the
attention. FTS is a very imp thing which is also needed by Unity. If
yes, then probably in Precise+1

@Manish,
I guess its status should be 'Low' not 'Invalid'.
Someone outside who is not a Zeitgeist developer could fix this since it seems simple.

That holds for all the projects listed above and not just Zeitgeist
