For me the root of the problem was interrupted backup. Removing .cache/deja-dup dodd not help, but after:
dconf reset -f /org/gnome/deja-dup/
(and making references once again) the backup starts. So, probably the problem lies in some bad dconf entries after not succesful backup process.
