I would not have that big a problem if Ubuntu had not made it the preferred way of installing and packaging apps now.

It highlights more fundamental issues with the design of snap, with the management, and with the way that it was included and promoted. And this is just one issue that is relatively simple. But if it had been a serious issue that affected packages, would it also have taken more than 5 years to address?

Is there a way to escalate this to the team at Canonical that made the decision to bring snap in in the first place?
