Have you tried the workaraound that we found for my described problem?
# /etc/sysctl.conf - Configuration file for setting system variables
# See sysctl.conf (5) for information.

# Get printing over lan
net.ipv4.tcp_frto = 0
Are older images like feisty backported to the not working frto? Hardy
comes with 2, older kernels worked with 0.
In my case all network printing are totally slowed down, till this
little frto setting switch everything back to old behaviour.
