Bug Description
With the latest grub-pc update, grub2 takes several minutes to get to the menu. During this time there is almost constant hard drive activity...this did not happen with the last update which would take 5 to 10 seconds at the most. This is with a i7-920/SATA2 system.
Please advise as to further information needed.

The same problem here too, but no where near minutes.
The "[minimal BASH-like..." message, which before the last grub-pc update would only flash by in half a second, now stays up for eleven seconds with constant noises from the hard drive. After the boot menu comes up everything appears to work normally (or perhaps there is a very slight delay for the actual boot to start after I hit enter, but that may just be in my imagination).
This is on an old nforce2 system (gigabyte GA-7nnxp) with a SiI 3112 SATA controller.
