hi, Regarding the bug:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=253871 CAN-2004-0554 user application can hang the kernel http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=262540
it seems that this is also a bug in the 2.4.18 kernel, at least according to this URL:
http://linuxreviews.org/news/2004/06/11_kernel_crash/ > 2. The Crashing Kernels > Minor numbers are versions verified, this is just the top the iceberg: > o 2.4.18-bf2.4 (debian woody vanilla)
In this case this is a security problem for the kernel 2.4.18 pacakages in stable IMHO, e.g. kernel-source-2.4.18
Is anyone working on a new security release for 2.4.18?
thanks boud
