I just found another bug report on RedHat's website. It actually had my
exact error code:

Comment #10 suggests passing the option swcrypto=1 during module load.
So, I did as comment #11 suggested:
echo option swcrypto=1 > /etc/modprobe. d/iwlagn. conf
