Original /etc/crypttab:

changed to

luks-98c2ce02-6cb1-4a2d-a086-1e8cf78a3c58 UUID=98c2ce02-6cb1-4a2d-a086-1e8cf78a3c58 none luks,discard

With the change the update-initramfs hooks/cryptroot logs shows the cryptsetup support files are correctly added.
