[8xx mesa] Unity can't start on laptop

Bug Description

Unity can't start on laptop on 13.04 and there are no windows borders on windows. If I boot into Gnome2 without compiz - everything is normal.
Ubuntu 12.10 Unity is working normal.

also, grab the ~/.xsession-errors file after logging in unity, for instance change to VT1 (ctrl-alt-F1) and copy the file somewhere, then attach it here

After running '/usr/lib/nux/unity_support_test -p' I get a "segmentation fault" message in the terminal .

Anyway. Thanks Chris! I tried your patch and it does seem to get farther along, but not quite. This is the error I see now:

Mesa 9.1.1 implementation error: unexpected format GL_DEPTH_COMPONENT in _mesa_choose_tex_format()
