Thanks,

Can you clarify what you mean here by "Resizing the layer window in
GIMP "using the resizable grip
> area on the top of the window" is impossible.". Are you not able to re-size it at all (eg, by using the re-size option in the window menu, or the grip or anything).

If you *are* able to resize it, its a bug in the window placement
algorithm compiz uses and I need to fix that (though I need to fix
that "offset" too I think as well).

That's not something that I can fix. I think there's a separate bug
for this though.

As we can see on the screenshot the lower right corner of a window that allows us to change its size is out of the screen. This case is espacially annoying in Unity where we are not provided with the lower panel where we could see all of the open windows all the time and switch between them with a single click of a mouse button. I'd love to be able to see all of the open windows all the time. Not all of us work on netbooks and our screens are usually big enough to handle one more panel or launchbar that doesn't escape my view (hide) and doesn't let me wait to occur if it occurs at all cause there are often problems even with that.
>  I'm describing the problem of no panel with this bug cause it causes a lot of trouble espacially while working with graphics where we often have to FAST and OFTEN switch between several windows, big windows but not maximized. Switching between windows in Unity is a way full of pain. The fastest way is ALT+TAB but if there are 4, 6 or 11 windows open, alt+tab is not the fastest method either. The Unity programmers didn't think about it at all. I'd love to either have my lower GNOME (actually MS Windows - it exists since Win95 and nobody took it us away for 17years! The autohide function isn't default as in Unity!!!) panel back or have the possibility of seeing the launchbar all the time! I certainly do NOT want it to hide and I think milions of people who work with more than 3 windows at a time would like to see it as well!
