Bug Description
This is similar, though not identical, to bugs #435805, #445829, #414353.
Every time a launcher menu grows to approximately 8 full rows of icons (an 8th row with 3 out of 4 icons won't trigger this behaviour), two strange things occur in the menu:
1) a large gap, roughly spanning the equivalent of 4 rows, is inserted in the middle of the list. The position of the gap at first appeared random, but it seems to be related to subfolders.
2) When this gap appears, it pushes several icons outside the visible menu area. The scrollbar seems to be locked at a specific column height, so there is no way to scroll down to these icons.
I've attached a screenshot of this anomaly in the Games folder, although I've also been able to reproduce this same behaviour in the Education folder as well.
As workarounds, the user can either make sure NOT to go over 8 rows in each category, or he/she can install the Main Menu applet on the panel in order to open any inaccessible applications/games. But at the moment, this does reduce the polish of the new launcher UI, and it is a slight regression from the older netbook launcher.

I also experienced this issue. Once I could restore the normal icon height after tinkering with the menu editor for one particular menu but it did not work for the rest. I am using a samsung n310 netbook.
