Just tried to reproduce it, but it works for me.
I get a "ALTER TABLE `test`
 MODIFY `dbl` double(2, 0) NOT NULL AFTER `c`;" SQL.

Could you please fill a new bug with some more details (error message, etc.) if you can reproduce this?
