Apologies, I checked and for some reason the fix I indicated wasn't included in the 0.17.6 checkbox release. This explains why you keep seeing this problem.

A new testing version for checkbox (will probably be version 0.17.7c1) will be released on Monday, and an e-mail will be sent then asking for testing.

Once you see that e-mail, could you please add the testing PPA, install checkbox, confirm the version is 0.17.7-something, and retest? the manual test as you did in comment #18 is fine.

The bug is set to Fix Commited but if you keep getting the failure, please reset to Confirmed.
