Thanks. I will take a deeper look into this later today. For now, though, I just wanted to clarify what I meant by "window manager":

Are you using:
* Metacity? (Gnome's / Ubuntu's default window manager)
* Compiz? (Ubuntu's window manager when "visual effects" is on)
* Or something else?
