2012-02-16 17:07:57 Stuart Metcalfe summary Log-on to Ubuntu .com is burdensome It's not clear that logging in to Ubuntu SSO only logs you in to Ubuntu SSO
2012-02-16 17:09:57 Stuart Metcalfe description At https://login.ubuntu.com/ enter valid ID and password. https://forms.canonical.com/sso-support/ opens and wants me to choose and retype a password. Links are Applications, Log Out, Update, and https://one.ubuntu.com/ Applications opens https://login.ubuntu.com/+applications which offers me the opportunity to delete Ubuntu One. I don't want that so I back arrow. Update is useless; I don't want to change passwords every time I log on and if I just click on update without filling in the blanks the same page returns with the annotation "Your account details have been successfully updated". I don't know what that means. https://one.ubuntu.com/opens https://one.ubuntu.com/ and a new log-in page. I don't want that. So I back-arrow, returning to https://login.ubuntu.com/ Back-arrow again, opening https://login.ubuntu.com/1d3Bw3DvdVjBh8S7/+decide which says "Invalid OpenID transaction" The only thing to do, then, is to go to Ubunto One and log in there. https://one.ubuntu.com/ offers the choice of links to Log In or Sign Up. I have an account so I click Log In, which opens https://one.ubuntu.com/dashboard/. No log-in is required; this page knows me and says Welcome Back. This is one crazy log-on process. If a user comes direct to Ubuntu SSO, it's not clear that logging in will *only* log you in to Ubuntu SSO. To log into another service (eg: Ubuntu One), you actually need to log in from that service. Otherwise, it can be a very confusing experience.
