Bug Description

M10 tablet.. Ever since upgrading to OTA11 the web browser has become very annoying.

If I have, say, 3 tabs on and close one, the browser often dissapears.. I restart it from the apps page and it restarts with all the original tabs, including thecone I tried to close.. I can then closecit again, usually without furthervincident.

Or I might open the bookmarks and try to open a new tab, and the browser vanishes.

Or, very occasionally I click on a search engine result and 'poof' she is gone!

Anyone care to nominate a suitable log file?

I am seeing around 30 incidents a day

This page makes the browser die every time.

1. Go to https://oneplus.net/uk/3
2. Start to scroll down

The browser will quit.

I have done this 6 times out of 6.. There are no new crash dumps submitted automatically

I have just restarted the tablet (bug #1595403) and can now scroll the oneplus page. But the browser still closed when I closed a tab with face book in it.

So whilst restarting changed summat it has not fixed the underlying g problem

Ok, getting silly now.
I powered the, tablet down this morning, and powered up not long ago.. I was scrolling down the daily telegraph's live news feed about the referendum, trying to guess where the music was coming from, when I found myself looking at the Ubuntu boot-up.. Not the white splash screen, but the orange one with the crawling dots.

This thing is,too buggy to use reliably.

Ok, got my Ipad back.
Going to pack the M10 away.. It's been interesting, but not much fun.. Like the phone it is just not finished, and not reliable enough to use

I have had to unbox my BQM10 tablet (OTA12) again, as my iPad has failed. I (can) only use it for web browsing, and the almost continuous crashing of the browser is very irritating.

I can induce it by
- switching tabs
- double clicking on text to copy it (especially if it seems not to select a word and I do it again)
- zooming in with the scroll wheel
- trying to copy an url from the address bar

Not seeing seemingly related crash reports on errors.ubuntu.com.

I have been playing with webbrowser-app on frieza running latest stable (OTA-14) + the webbrowser-app and oxide updates that are scheduled to go into OTA-15, opening and closing many tabs didn’t crash the app, so I’ll tentatively close this bug. Please re-open if the problem persists after OTA-15 is released. Thanks!
