another thought. we can enable it as it is now so in the in the pocket case it does not light up the screen. However once the proximity is not detected and the screen is turned on, we can disable it for the remainder of the time. I think now we disable it only after the user touches the phone. The bad symptom occurs when my hand goes to the indicator panel and triggers the proximity again.
