Error when communicating with the kobo reader

Dear sir/mdm:

When I attach the kobo by usb port to the PC, the calibre software report the following error:

calibre, version 0.8.9

ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

no such column: FavouritesIndex

My excuses, my mistake, my kobo e-reader was without the latest firmware.

Just now, after upgrade it from 1.7.4 (r21889, dec 6, 2010) to 1.9 (r25373, mar 29, 2011), it work like a charm.

I have the original Kobo with 1.4 firmware. There is no later update available for this device. This bug also reset my "I'm reading" list.

Hi

The original Kobo (I have two) has firmware 1.8.x available. What I
did not realize however is that since I have used the original Kobos
with a new desktop version (Wifi and now the Touch version) the
database schema was updated to a version that included that column.

The release will be out on Friday but for now either wait, upgrade
your firmware and sync with a newer desktop version..
