Issue with "--start-in-tray" switch and MS RDP

Running W11 on a headless system and using MS RDP to access the PC. The PC is auto logged in on bootup.

In V6.29 I have selected "preferences/sharing over the net/start calibre when computer started" This works fine when I RDP into the system. I do see a window pop up and close when I use the shortcut with the "--start-in-tray" switch.

In V7.0 with the same configuration it does work but the window that pops up does not close. So everytime I RDP in I have an open blank window that I cannot close and an icon on the taskbar. If I then click on the tray icon calibre opens correctly and another click minimises it to the tray.

Fixed in branch master. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every alternate Friday.

You are welcome, it's not really a fix, more of a workaround for an
underlying Qt bug. It's quite possible it will manifest in different
curcumstances, the proper fix will have to come from Qt.

Hi, I have installed 7.1 and the issue is better but it does still happen. I have tested a fair bit more and discovered a "fix" The problem only occurs if the Calibre program is running maximised. I have now set the window to be almost full screen and when I RDP in it no longer sticks at a blank window.

It works perfectly on my laptop with no flash of the main screen so this is only affecting RDP sessions and the workaround is fine. I hope QT will adress the issue but I won't hold my breath.
