When trying to follow a calibre://..-link from one epub book in ebook-viewer to another book-location in the same library ebook-viewer shows the following error

Blocking navigation request to: calibre://.....

xdg-open calibre://... works perfect with this link, i.e. opens the book, but from ebook-viewer it is blocked.
What is causing this blocking?
I'm using calibre 6.22 on Linux.
