Bug Description

The first is not a "problem" but it is annoying : the new drag and drop file to merge 2 files in the left panel (don't know the name) is a pain in the ass when you just want to change the order of the files because it is much much easier to merge then to change the order. Is it possible to make the drag and drop optional?

The second problem is when you move files from one book to another. If a file of the same name exist in the book where you transfer the files, we got an error message. Good. But most of the time some of the files were transferred but don't appear as being transferred. Is existing a way to update the editor to see those new files instead of closing and opening the book, or is it a bug?

I'ma fraid there isnt anyway to turn off themerge. And I cant replicate
your second issue. If I copy paste a file from another editor instance
that has the same name as an existing file, the file is copied without
error, with a -1 suffix added to its file name to make it unique, in
calibre version 5.35

I'm surprise you can't replicate the problem. Did you try to copy paste multiple files? A precision: the files I'm transferring are images, fonts and css. I never never get a -1 suffix at the names.
