You can now press Enter when the search input field is active or click on the magnifying glass icon (both circumscribed in red in the attached image) to find the next match in the table of contents. Having a keyboard shortcut and mouse action modifier for finding the previous one could be useful. Perhaps, Shift+Enter and Shift[+click] respectively would do.
