Sorry to have bothered you, but the problem is solved. Before I used your plugin to store the books on the Kobo in the kepub format, the number of pages of the epubs was displayed on a "per book" basis. It seems however that when the same books where stored as a kepubs, the default display mode became "on chapter" basis (anyway I did not change it and noticed it while checking the settings of the Kobo)). Hence my problem. I changed this in the settings to "entire book" now I can see the total number of pages in the book.
