Comment 3 for bug 183705

The visibility of this bug has just been updated, allowing to answer, sorry for the delay.

We don't intend to ever use 'password' in the ssh section (see https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bzr/+bug/203186/comments/5 for the rationale). The specification mentions it (http://doc.bazaar-vcs.org/bzr.dev/developers/authentication-ring.html), sorry if the doc itself didn't make that clearer (will fix).

That being said, authentication.conf needs polishing and would receive it.

Regarding your particular use case, there are two possible solutions:
- using an ssh agent that will provides passwords,
- using host keys that will avoid having to prompt for passwords,
