in case it is not clear, the '@' signs are only for illustration purposes, I am not actually using them. just not interested in publicly publishing the actual domain name. The domain name is the same in both the conf file and the sftp command.
I did not try the above with a blank host= since I actually deal with several different domains and each has a different password, it would not be useful to have them all the same.
Please do update the docs to make the use of the [brackets] more clear. The examples make it appear as though any random value can be used? But I am guessing that it is actually supposed to be the branch name? anyway, I tried several different things and it did not make any difference.
