Thanks for the bug report and I'm sorry to hear you're having so much grief. You *might* be experiencing a problem related to "crashing on refresh", though the refresh is often implicit. See bug #395175. You can check is that's the case by toggling off the "Automatically refresh the status report" preference under the Behavior tab of the Options dialog (Tools > Options).

FWIW, a later version of the Qt toolkit seems to have fixed this issue on other operating systems. We'll be packaging a later version for Bazaar 2.2 rela soon now I hope.
