Hello, thanks for the report.

This behavior is by design. The idea is that you would open multiple windows to handle separate tasks.

If you don't want to automatically connect to screen, then please disable screen by default at login. Then, proceed to login, and choose what screen you'd like to connect to.

Alternatively, we've tried to make it as easy as possible for you to detach (F6). Then, you can run 'screen -ls' and attach to a different session with screen -r.

I'm afraid I'm going to mark this as 'won't fix' for now. If you'd like to submit a patch that handles this behavior more properly, I will certainly consider it.
