wide unicode breaks statusbar display

Bug Description

i've set wide unicode char to be distro logo, and how the screen "runs" off because each second update adds new line

echo 'LOGO="🐦 "' >> ~/.byobu/statusrc

i'm not sure whose fault it is, maybe gtk issue, but i tested with lxterminal (gtk+2) and mate-terminal (gtk+3)

tmux 2.2, readline 7.0

i think it may be readline fault, as i noticed mosh also acting weird

Yeah, unicode breaks a lot of terminals, unfortunately...
