1) there was a red 7!! in the bottom line
2) I checked "cat $BYOBU_RUN_DIR/cache.$BYOBU_BACKEND/updates-available" and got "7 1"
3) did "sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade && sudo apt autoremove" (apt tells all 0)
4) waited a few minutes (red 7!! still there and went not away)
5) checked "cat $BYOBU_RUN_DIR/cache.$BYOBU_BACKEND/updates-available" again and still got "7 1"
6) did 3) 4) 5) again with same results
7) did "sudo apt install --reinstall weechat-devel-ruby"
8) about 5 seconds later the red 7!! disappeared and
9) "cat $BYOBU_RUN_DIR/cache.$BYOBU_BACKEND/updates-available" now tells "0 0"
