yes, I did some modifications (see the older posts from me in this thread since May 2017) hoping to get a fix for the problem which is only sometimes occurring!

for now i put Your

1.) updates_available file from #50 into /usr/lib/byobu (after backuo the old) and than did
2.) sudo chmod 755 updates_available

I am looking forward to a hopefull better future and will give a feedback after a few updates
(Remember; the error does not always occur)
