Bug Description

I will attach 3 screenshots, focusing on the connection of one last net on my PCB.

example1.png: Shows the remaining single rats-nest-line. DRC reports no errors. (Does it not report incomplete nets?)

example2.png: I have added a top-side line, but one end is too close to another pin (without overlapping). DRC reports an error, correctly.

example3.png. I have moved the endpoint of the line. Instead of being near the wrong pin, it is connected all the way onto the wrong pin. Totally wrong wiring. DRC reports no errors! This is the problem.

I don't think DRC ever did a netlist compare, that's what the 'o' (optimize rats) key is for. DRC checks for manufacturability problems. Do you think DRC should be more comprehensive?

If I temporarily turn off "auto enforce DRC clearance", how can I later detect mistakes that have been made, if the DRC tool doesn't do it? (I might be missing something. I'm doing my first design on PCB to see if it is practical to migrate to it from Protel 99 SE.)

Adding netlist compare to the DRC would be great, of course. (Yes, I know, a patch would help...) That's what I'm used to personally, from Protel.

Yes, auto-enforce DRC and the DRC checker do the same tests. The typical workflow is to use the 'o' key to update the rats nest as your route, with auto-enforce on if you like, and occasionally and/or near the end, run DRC checks to verify line/space rules.

Looks like this is solved. Not a bug. Anyways, thanks for reporting, Michael.
