Frequest freezes under Precise mostly during browser sessions

I am encountering very frequent full computer freezes under Precise. At this point I can not open any Firefox or Chromium-browser without risk of freeze and corrupting my RAID array.

I encountered similar behavior under a lowlatency kernel on 10.04 studio which was corrected by a kernel update. I wonder if a similar problem exists under the Linux 3.x low latency kernel.

Firefox and chromium have been temporarily hanging my install of Ubuntu studio 12.04 since the beginning.
After Latest round of security (kernel?) updates, either browser will consistently crash Ubuntu when closing the browser. Computer re-boots after crash.
