Bug Description

This is a freeze exception request for one last update to ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu, including new screenshots for the Ubuntu slideshow.

This is pretty straight-forward: previously, screenshots shown in the installer were from an older version of Ubuntu. Now, they're from 12.04. And they're a little more consistent, too :)

You can see a preview slideshow with new screenshots over here:
http://people.ubuntu.com/~dylanmccall/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/preview/
(You might need to Shift+Refresh if you've looked at that before, because browser caching is crazy and stuff).

I apologize that this took so long to happen. I wasn't expecting the wallpaper to arrive when it did.

I am not intending to make any changes with this release except for the screenshots.

UIFe granted.

Based on feedback in #ubuntu-release I think we generally agree that this needs to go in.
We'd certainly have preferred this be done much earlier but at least it's fairly low impact as it only changes screenshots and so may only affect the documentation (assuming that we indeed have screenshots of the slideshow in there).

I'll be doing a last upload of ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu on Tuesday (17th) with these changes and a last refresh of the translations.
Please ensure that the branch is perfectly up to date and that no other undocumented changes are in there.

Thanks

Oh, one last thing we discussed in #ubuntu-release. Could you please give us the size before/after for each of these new screenshots? We don't want to risk having one of them significantly bigger than the old one and making us go oversize.

if you can't, I'll do that check before the upload on Tuesday but will most likely end up reverting any screenshot that would have become much bigger.

Thanks

Jeremy Bicha confirmed on IRC that the documentation doesn't contain any screenshot of the slideshow.

social.jpg is just a little big in the new one because it has some small text, and I'd rather it be readable than smothered in jpg artifacts. I have copies of all of these as PNGs, so I'll compress them a little more if you'd prefer: it won't be the end of the world :)

I agree, the lateness of this was really ugly. I understand there's a new design for the Ubuntu slideshow coming down the tubes for Ubuntu-Q, so that will be a good opportunity to change how the screenshot stuff (if it continues) is done. We can probably make it so it doesn't depend on the new wallpaper, at least. That would be good.

Right, I think we can live with the 10kB increase.
If we end up being that close to the CD limit, I'll remember we can always re-compress some of them to save some extra kB, but I highly doubt this will be needed so I'd prefer we have the good quality ones.

Thanks
