Bug Description

This was working, and there was no apparent reason for change, although updates may have been applied since printer last used

lsusb shows printer connected

HP printer driver saying it is unable to to connect to the deveice

Please provide https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems#USB_printer and try the usb backend /dev/usb/lp0 instead of the hp(lip) one (http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/fedora/hp1020.html). Does that work?
