Your version is ve-e-ery obsolete (yours is 0.5.2; the current version is 0.10).

Please also note that the official website of Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup has changed.
It is now located at:

and its development is very much alive.

  * New upstream version (LP: #970656)
    * A bunch of crash fixes.
    * A number of description updates, to match 0.10 changes.
    * Allies cannot smite enemies through glass anymore.
    * Reaching cannot be used while caught in a net/web.
    * Fix a number of oddities with the shopping list.
    * Fix multiple compiles often repeating work -- especially jarring for
      "make; make install".
    * Unknown items in shop use a neutral tile colour, fixing an information
      leak (you can't learn the appearances this way anymore).
    * Fix allies not using IOOD at all.
    * A lot of other minor fixes.
