Bug Description

Adobe automatically updated yesterday March 30, & none of CBC radio's streaming audio stations work anymore. The audio window comes up, but nothing happens. It might be CBC's problem.... they're a Windows outfit & not very bright, but it seems to coincide with that Adobe update. Has also affected the Chromium browser. On further investigation, my Live365 & CKUA Radio audio streams also no longer work on either browser. The audio windows come up but nothing happens. I use Ubuntu 11.10 on a desktop machine.

Thanks, but why report it against Firefox when you already confirmed Flash broke it and it happens in Chromium too? It seems that everybody is doing this today, and I'm just curious about why people keep doing it

affects: firefox (Ubuntu) → adobe-flashplugin (Ubuntu)

Hi Chris
The reason I reported it against Firefox is that there is a Report a Problem link on the Help menu. Figured that since I use Firefox to listen to CBC, that the Firefox people  might be interested. Trying to report something to Adobe is next to impossible. I reported it right away to CBC yesterday, but unless its happening on Windows or iPods, it will take them a while to get around to looking into it. Meanwhile, my old netbook still has Ubuntu 10.04 on it, so its now playing audio streams. Coincidently, Adobe's Flash is offering to update itself on the netbook..... but I am declining the offer.

Meanwhile, I am going to install a fresh 10.04 on a spare hard drive, do all the updates except Adobe's & see what happens regarding CBC streaming audio. Then I will apply that update to see what happens again. Is there a way to un-install a particular update & thus have the system revert back to its pre-update condition ?

But back to your "why" question. It is the most obvious, most available link to actually getting something going when you experience problems with Ubuntu.
Thanx for responding.
-George
