Searchbox compact form button not responding to clicks in ux2

In Popper, when you resize the screen to make it narrow, the searchbox is replaced with a button on the global toolbar. You click it and the searchbox appears. This works currently.

In ux2, the button does not respond to clicks.

JS now works, but the layout is bad on IE8 (looks good on Safari.) On IE8, the height of the box that appears in the pushdown isn't high enough.

Looks like a respond.js problem with ie8, when resizing it looses the respond style when opening the search bar.

Jim, I believe this is fixed, but perhaps you need to confirm.

It is fixed tested under IE8 and IE9.
