Bug Description

Recent updates of unity and hud break performance.
Reproducable.
Firefox in full screen mode. Move the mouse cursor over the menus fast, click here and there a menu entry.
Firefox becomes unresponsive due to increase of memory usage from hud- and unity-service.
It takes about 2:50 minutes until firefox is responsive again. (video)
The video also reveals that bug 933615 is back.

Could you first make sure you have all the default Unity settings and then try to reproduce the issue? hint: unity --reset

Thanks Omer, I've tested guest account where the behaviour is fine. Although it's a pitty that we need default settings to have a usable system.

Bug 932125 happens after unity --reset on user account, mem leak remains.
Terminal output says unity-panel-service no process found, but the process is still there. (screenshot from conky).
In case it's of interest also attach a video of black blured dash while scrolling.

The black blurred thing should be a separate bug. As for the firefox menu leak issue, does it exist on the guest account too? If not, then it's probably related to the appmenu.

Bilal, the firefox menu leak doesn't occur on guest account and also not on laptop, where I've just tested it.
Might have to do with appmenu leak.
Reported the dash black blur there. bug 966448

Marking this as fixed. With recent updates, it needed a reboot which disabled unity (it's plugin was disabled in ccsm).
Imported the backup .profile file on user account and since then unable to reproduce a firefox freeze by playing with appmenu.
