Doesn't happen every time. Can't catch particular reasons at the moment, bus after the 'happening' it is obvious i can't do anything about it if I'm not prepared - cannot type anything, cannot launch terminal (dash home button stops working either) to get logs.

Button (Fn + F6) disables my right touchpad button as well as my keyboard, excluding Fn + F* keys. Seems like it would have something to do with Fn+F6 being bound to some shortcut from hell but I'm not seeing it anywhere.

This also occurs on my Dell Studio XPS 1640.

I found that you don't need to kill X to regain functionality of the keyboard; just move to any virtual terminal (i.e; tty) using Fn+F# & back toX on F7.

@Zach: I cannot confirm this on my laptop!

P.S.: some of you might also be affected by the following bugs:

Gnome 3 is probably relevant. I have experienced exactly the same problem under Ubuntu, Linux Mint Cinnamon and Fedora.

I do not know - that laptop died a year ago :)
