libapache2-mod-cband needs rebuilding

libapache2-mod-cband does not load against Apache 2.2 in Feisty. Rebuilding from source package works fine. Please upload a new binary package.

Binary package hint: libapache2-mod-cband

I'm using Feisty and I've installed libapache2-mod-cband.
I've symlinked the cband.load and cband.conf to mods-enabled directory, and also tried edititng the httpd.conf (as it was configured in my Edgy instalation) but when I restart Apache 2, it gives me the following error:

 * Forcing reload of web server (apache2)...
apache2: Syntax error on line 189 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf: Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/apache2/httpd.conf: API module structure `cband_module' in file /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_cband.so is garbled - perhaps this is not an Apache module DSO?

confirming the exact same problem on a fresh feisty install here (are users supposed/permitted to confirm bugs?)

It's too bad this was not confirmed before Feisty was released, as it could have been fixed before release. Oh well, I hope the fixed package will make it into feisty-updates :)

I'm seeing this now too. Worked perfectly under Edgy (and Dapper before that).

Got the same problem after an upgrade from Dapper->Edgy->Feisty.

I installed apache2-prefork-dev and recompiled the module from the package on mod-cband.com, and everything worked fine.

So someone just needs to pop a new binary into the package.

I can confirm also that this work in previous versions.

Is there an ETA as to the resolution of this issue?

This package needs to be rebuilt against Apache 2.2 to work.

You can rebuild the source package yourself if you want a workaround.

well, mod cband is STILL not available in hardy or intrepid. (http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=cband&searchon=names&suite=all&section=all)

This bug report is being closed, as the module is no longer maintained and the last Ubuntu version that contained this was Gutsy which is no longer supported. Sorry for the inconvenience.
