Toolbar disappears after resizing image using "+" and minimizing

Using Pinta v1.1 in Ubuntu 11.10 - when I resize the current image by clicking on the "+" icon in the toolbar, and if I minimize the application, the toolbar will disappear and a blank space will appear instead when I restore the window.

Apparently, this happens when the size of the opened image becomes larger than what fits in the drawing area, after clicking "+" enough times. This doesn't happen if I use the percentage dropdown in the toolbar. Let me know if I need to attach screenshots or something.

I wasn't able to reproduce this with a development build of Pinta 1.2 on Ubuntu 11.10, so if you could attach a screenshot or video that would be great!

Sure! See attached files with screenshots, one per step:

1) Open an image. The toolbar is there.
2) Click on the "+" icon twice to enlarge the image, now it is larger than the drawing area.
3) Minimize the app
4) Restore the app: the toolbar is not there anymore, and a blank space appears instead.

It seems that when the step 2 is performed, the toolbars stop redrawing. In my case the toolbars did not dissapear, but them seemed "frozen". I could still click on different toolbar buttons to activate commands, but the UI would not refresh until Pinta was restarted.

I tested this problem on Windows XP sp3 using pinta-1.2-development-preview-version and on Ubuntu 11.10 latest development build from source and I can't reproduce the problem. In Ubuntu I am using Unity 2D inside VirtualBox virtual machine.

Maybe this problem is related to window manager or something. It would be nice to know what window manager user Montag is using - is it default Unity or something else.

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 with default Unity (which I think is Unity 3D). Fitoschido (#7) you're right, toolbar just stops working after doing that. And since it stopped working, whenever needs to be re-painted it doesn't (like in minimize / restore), so the bug it's a bit worse than what I stated originally.

I did a bit more investigation - after the toolbar "freezes", this message shows up in the console:
